A few weeks ago, I wrote a post about the most expensive hotel in the world, valued at $37,500 per night. Personally, I thought that rate was ridicilouis, however, readers of this blog (including fellow Know More Media bloggers) didn't see anything wrong with paying that much for a hotel room - if you could afford it. Don't get me wrong, I love staying in luxury, but as they say, it does have a price, one which I can't imagine spending a year's salary one. But, it seems extraordinary hotel rooms are just the tip of the iceberg.
While surfing online, I found a great article on Forbes Traveler about unusual and odd hotel perks. It seems hotels are out to make sure their guests get whatever they need - no matter what, how or where it is.
According to the article "the rule of thumb is you don't say no." So, what are a few of these perks?
* While on a Tahitian vacation, Phoenix Suns guard Steve Nash decided to get a tattoo and had the hotel fly a tattoo artist flown to the private island where he was staying
* The Benjamin Hotel allows guests to choose between 13 different kinds of pillows from water to buckwheat.
* A Brazil Hilton has a helicopter that can transfer guests from the airport to the hotel
